Obituary of Angela M. MacAbee

It is with broken hearts that we mourn the loss of our beloved daughter, sister and friend, Angela. Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will remember her with all the warmth, love, and grace she deserved. Angela was born on May 8, 1985 to Jonathan and Marilyn MacAbee in Malone, NY. After graduating from Lake Placid High School in 2003, she went on to study criminal justice at SUNY Potsdam. In addition to a passion for true crime and Stephen King novels, Angela was an avid artist, producing an array of mixed media collages and sketches. She loved animals – namely her dog, “Julie-Bears” – Pink Floyd and Mystery Science Theatre 3,000 (MST3K). She was known to root for the underdog and give everyone a chance. Throughout her short time with us, Angela struggled with both physical and emotional conditions that often manifested in her artwork. Despite more hardships than one life should endure, she always picked herself up and tried to build a brighter future. While we will greatly miss her smile and uniquely creative spirit, we are grateful that she now knows what it's like to be genuinely unbound of disease or pain. Angela was predeceased by her father, Jonathan MacAbee; her grandparents, Delbert and Bernice Courson, and Edward and Shirley Clark. She is survived by her mother, Marilyn MacAbee and her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Ryan Price. A memorial service will be held Monday May 9, 2022 at Frary Funeral Home in Malone at 2:00 PM. Calling hours will be held prior from 12:00 PM until the start of the service. A burial will follow at St. Josephs’ Cemetery on Fort Covington Street. We request that in place of flowers, you donate to the Epilepsy Foundation (epilepsy.com) in her name. “Open your heart, I'm coming home.” – Pink Floyd
