Obituary of William Edward Cunningham

William E. Cunningham, age 81 of Burke, NY passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his home unexpectedly. A funeral service will be held at Frary Funeral Home on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 12:00 PM with Bentley McQuinn officiating. Calling hours will be held prior from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home. William was born October 12, 1940 in New York City to Francis James Cunningham and Mary Bell. He graduated college from the University of Miami and the University of Dayton. On April 27, 1992 he married Elia Rebeca Hernandez in Miami, Florida. He worked as a school bus driver, detention teacher, and a teachers aid for Franklin Academy and even served as the president of the CSCA for the union. Mr. Cunningham is survived by his wife, Elia Cunningham of Burke, NY; his six daughters, Barbara Ann Campbell of Georgia, Cassie Smith of New Hampshire, Linda Guzman and Gail Parr of Texas, Desiree Valentine of Arizona, and Yizrel Melendez of Florida; a son, Matthew Hernandez of Texas; three half siblings, Eugene Cunningham, Doreen Cunningham, and Sharon Cunningham Schultz; 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
