Obituary of Wayne J. LaRocque
On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, Wayne J. LaRocque, a loving father of four daughters, passed away after a brief stay at North Country Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Massena, at age 97.
Wayne was born on October 6, 1924 to Leo Albert LaRock and Mary Eva Thebert at his home in North Bangor, NY. He graduated from high school at Brushton- Moira Central School. On January 16, 1949, he married Esther Jones in Malone, NY. Together they raised four daughters, Judy, Cheryl, Deborah, and Brenda. From January 1943 through January 1947, Mr. LaRocque served in the United States Marine Corp. Then from December 1950 to May 1952, Wayne served in the United State Air Force. He worked for the Rutland Rail in Ogdensburg. He was a Charter Member of the Bangor Fire Department.
He was survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Crinklaw of North Bangor, Deborah White and her husband Patrick of North Bangor, and Brenda LaPlant of Dickinson Center; grandchildren Stephanie, Sheri, and Chad DuMont, Cory and Kevin White, Melissa Safford, Darren, and Keisha LaPlant; and great- grandchildren, Hunter, Chase, Kael, Henley, Alexandria, Alana, Justin, Chandler, CJ, Colin, Ethan, and Courtney; and a sister, Rita Monica of North Bangor.
He was predeceased by his wife, Esther Marie (Jones) LaRocque; a daughter, Judy DuMont; a grandson, Shawn DuMont; and two sons-in-law, Paul DuMont and Robert Crinklaw.
A mass of Christian burial will take place in North Bangor at St. Augustine’s Church with Fr. Raymond Moreau officiating on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with an hour of visitation prior from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at the Coal Hill Cemetery in Westville in the spring. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Malone. Donations may be sent to the Bangor Fire Department in his name, or a charity of your choice. Condolences can be made at fraryfuneralhomes.com.
