Ah yes...so many memories, and now another piece missing from the part of the family that I considered to be that 'older' group within the family. Why do some images stick in our minds the way that they do? The Beards and the Dishaws may not have had the same last name, but I didn't see it that way, we were all part of this larger group regardless. My Mom & Dad (Mary & Stanley) would take me up to Ogdensburg every Easter, every Thanksgiving, and often in the summer for a vacation to Black Lake. The real reason to go of course was to visit Gramma, Grampa, and Aunt Marion over on Mechanic St. Regardless of the time frame, it seemed like I always had a chance to go to the Beard's house (which I remember being large and yellow on the outside). I remember Loren as this big-guy. quiet, who was always nice to me, even though I was just a kid. This 'bigness' and 'nice' thing was something that seemed to run in the family! Looking back...what a wonderfully kind group they all were. I remember Mike, he was big. Mark, who for whatever the reason, towered over everyone! I remember one day over at cousin Danny's on Ford street, Mark had a Barracuda (?) and really smoked those tires right out in front of the house! Danny was my buddy as we were close to the same age. Wynne was older, and Tina was younger, and sadly because they were 'girls' I didn't spend much time with them. As the decades passed, I grew closer to Loren Jr., who I remember did a lot with the genealogy of the family. That was cool. Oddly enough; and to this day I don't understand why, we called him 'Lor-nee' instead of Loren. This irritated me, because that wasn't his name. That left Matt, who I really never knew because by the time he came along, I was older and everyone was starting to go their separate ways. Last but certainly not least, there was Nina. Again, not big! But certainly nice. I always felt comfortable talking to her, like I had known her for years. One of the significant connections there was that Aunt Marion stayed in their apartment. So when we visited her, I visited Nina as well. So here we are, moving onto our futures, but not forgetting our past. I hope all of you are well, I think about you all every night when I say my prayers. Take care and god bless. Tim Dishaw

I’m am so sad to hear of his passing. He was my best buddy in our neighborhood. My garden partner and yes I would make trades with him for a piece of one of his pies. He had a great sense of humor. CJ and I would joke and laugh with him and Nina often. You have our heartfelt condolence.
