Obituary of Armand Andrew Leonard

Armand “Frenchie” Leonard age 81, of Malone, NY passed away March 15, 2022 at the Valley Ridge Manor with his companion Gale and daughter Diane by his side. A funeral service will be held at Frary Funeral Home on Friday March 18, 2022 at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be held prior from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM. The burial will take place in the spring at the Constable Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home. Frenchie was born May 16, 1940 in Churubusco, NY to the late George and Irene Yelle Leonard. He graduated from Ellenburg Central School in 1959 and later Canton ATC. He worked as an operator for Steel Truss Company in Plattsburgh, NY, as a general contractor for Charlie & Micky’s Carpentry, worked at the local radio station 96.5 and spend many years as a local insurance agent. He worked up until COVID, driving for Meals on Wheels and helping assist with Medical Transports. He enjoyed calling square dances and playing spoons. Mr. Leonard is survived by his sons, Ronald (Mary) Leonard of St. Louis, MO, Michael (Monique) Leonard of Connecticut, Andrew (Mallory) Leonard of Peru, NY, and Brent (Amanda) Leonard of Moira, NY; his daughters, Diane (Wayne) Roberts of Malone, NY and Teresa (Paul) Frederick of West Chazy, NY; a brother, Reney Leonard and his companion Patty of Glenns Falls, NY; a sister, Anita (Theodore) LeClair of Central Square, NY; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Irene Leonard; his wife, Carol Leonard; a sister, Leona LeClair. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Constable Food Pantry.
