Obituary of Leona T. Bombard

Leona T. Bombard Born: September 2, 1926 in Newton Falls, New York Leona, 95, of Tupper Lake, NY, died Wednesday, March 11, 2022, at Mercy Living Center, Tupper Lake, NY. A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Frary Funeral Home, Tupper Lake. Immediately following the visitation, 2:30PM a Mass will be held at St Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake. Interment will be at Holy Name Cemetery in Tupper Lake on a later date. Leona was born September 2, 1926, Newton Falls, NY, to George and Donalda Dubey. She lived and married her entire adult life Tupper Lake. Leona was employed by multiple employers over the course of her lifetime: Sunmount DDSO, A&P, personal caretaker for the Hall and Goodman families, Lady Diane and the OWD. After retiring, she worked The Senior Companions Program at Sunmount DDSO for 5 years. Even after her retirement she kept herself busy with catering parties for Families on Upper Saranac Lake. She was known for homemaking in the community and cooking skills. Her renowned specialties of baked goods such as homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, high rise rolls and bread. Many of these items were donated to fundraisers or funeral ceremonies. She was a true Adirondacker who enjoyed berry picking, hiking, gardening and especially fishing. In winter she would also occupy her time with ceramics. She was a very religious woman who supported Holy Name Church and functions. Survivors: Brother Pete “Leon” Dubey of Rockford, IL, two children, Donna (Peets) Poirier) “Beard” Piercefield, NY and Paul Peets (Janelle), Tupper Lake, NY. Michelle (Poirier) Clement, husband Scott and children Nicholas Skiff, Bayleigh & Elliot Clement of Tupper Lake, NY. Jesse Peets, children Maddox Peets Adams Center, NY, Paxton and Aiden Peets Williamsville, NY. Jay Peets, wife Julia and son Jaxson of Harpursville, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Homer, Albert, Arthur, Henry and four sisters Rosina, Rosa, Phyllis, Bertha. Husbands Donald Peets, Alfred Bombard, Stepson James Bombard and Grand Son Robbie Peets. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Hospice and Tupper Lake Rescue Squad.
