Obituary of Kathy Jane Parkinson

Kathy Jane Parkinson, age 61, of 625 County Route 42, passed away peacefully on March 09, 2022 with her loving family at her side while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. A Celebration of Kathy’s life will be held on a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Massena. Kathy is survived by her children, Tracey and her partner Ryan Lannis of Massena, Bruce Lindsey Jr., of Canton, Jonathan Lindsey of Massena, Travis Lindsey and his partner Julia Keyoskey of Poestenkill, and Todd and Amanda Parkinson, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; her siblings, Sharon Gushlaw, of Norfolk, NY, Norma and Dave Taylor, of Bethlehem, Connecticut, Patty Schwartfigure, of Norwood, NY, Richard and Candy Olmstead, of Potsdam, Helen and Dale Fountain, of South Colton, Cheryl Opal, of Fort Jackson, Thomas and Deborah Olmstead, of Madrid, Larry and Terry Olmstead, of Canton, Jerry and Laurie Olmstead of Canton; seven grandchildren, Zachary Gilbert, Bradley Gilbert, Nicholas Gilbert, Gabriel Gilbert, Bruce Lindsey III, Jamison Lindsey and Stella Parkinson. She is predeceased by her parents Chester and Helen (Whittman) Olmstead; a brother Chester “Jack” Olmstead; and her first husband Bruce Lindsey, Sr. Kathy was born on November 16, 1960, in Potsdam, NY, the daughter of Chester and Helen (Whittman) Olmstead. She attended school at Colton Pierpont Central School. On August 11, 2008, Kathy married Kevin Parkinson at their home in Massena, NY, officiated by Justice Hal Frasier. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, watching the Hummingbirds, gardening, crocheting blankets, and watching her soap operas.
