Obituary of Norman Richard Symonds

Norman Symonds age 66 of Malone, NY, passed away Saturday February 5, 2022 at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Frary Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held prior from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. Norm was born on October 3, 1955 to Vaughn Symonds and Nathalie Holmes Symonds. Norm graduated from Franklin Academy in 1973. He enlisted with the United States Army on April 21, 1975 and was honorably discharged March 9, 1981. Norm married his best friend and soulmate Pamela Barton on May 25, 1976. Together they built a family and shared memories to last forever. Norm worked with Mercer Transportation for 20 plus years and logged over a million miles with his love of Trucking. Norm last worked for H.C. Robinson & Son. Norm had great pride in his work and touched many people with his witty humor and his selfless acts of kindness to anyone in need. Norm loved and cared about his wife and children immensely, but he enjoyed his grandchildren and demonstrated endless efforts to provide for them a life that they deserved but especially just teaching them life lessons. Norm spent time enjoying life whether that was 4 wheeling, snow sledding, working on his truck or just spending time looking at the homestead that he and Pam built together. Norm is survived by his wife Pamela Symonds of Malone, NY; his mother Nathalie Symonds of Malone NY; both of his daughters, Lisa Willingham and her husband Roger of Peru, NY, and Towanda Symonds of Malone, NY; sister, Joann Winter and her husband Lane of Nebraska, Brother Jody Symonds and his wife Felicia of Connecticut; his grandchildren, Kayleigh and Ella Willingham of Peru, NY, Eric, Gavin and Kirstin Symonds of Malone, NY; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
