Matthew was a quiet person who will be greatly missed by his family. He loved to work with his hands and was very gifted when working in carpentry. Matt had a amazing heart and would help out anytime it was needed. He loved his kids and grandkids. He spoke fondly of them.
He will be missed at the family gatherings, but never forgotten. We will speak about him often and remember his wit and charm. My heart is breaking and my soul is shattered until we meet again little brother. Take care and say Hi to John and dad in heaven for me.

The quiet, strong willed, largest heart, and amazing laugh. My favorite thing with Matt was always watching the transformation on his face when smiling…. Whether it was a joke he heard for a full laugh, that quiet rumble of single spurts of laughter together, a single smile when thinking of something, seeing the kids, or even if it was the slightest of smirks…. His eyes would get a twinkle, and that gruff facade viewed by many faded away, transforming his entire face to that person inside we all loved. I will always hear him laughing quietly and visualize his smile (in the eyes, too)…….. Will also never forget him dancing with my 1 1/2 - 2 year old daughter - both with such joy- as they were only two on dance floor, at Dick & Nancy’s wedding. Forever in our hearts, Matt. Love you always, Wendy

I met Matt in 1982, we fell in love immediately. Had Brandon Thomas in 1987, Wed in 1989, and had Tennile in 1990. He was a great husband, and a loving father to both of his children. He loved teaching them things, hunting, fishing and he loved to watch Brandon play hockey. He loved his ruggy) Tennile and played with her everyday.. We are all so sad at his passing, and my granddaughters, Addison and Chloe will miss him so much. Fly high Matt, we love you.....
