Obituary of Donald James Clark

Donald James Clark, 85, of Malone passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 surrounded by family at the home of his son and daughter in law in Florida. He was born March 22, 1936 in Tupper Lake, the son of Vernon and Catherine Sabin. On May 14, 1955 he was married to the love of his life, Joyce Elaine Flynn. She predeceased him in 2011. Donald was a mechanic and service manager for many years, retiring from a career at Reynolds Aluminum. He was proud of his time spent in the Army Reserves. He was a communicant of Saint Andre Bessette Parish. Donald enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, camping, and playing cards. He cherished spending time with his family to include Donny Rovito, who was like a son. Don especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren which he adored and was so proud of. Beautiful memories of Donald remain with two sons, Donald and daughter-in-law, Eileen Clark of Florida, Bryan and daughter-in-law, Geri Ann Clark of Malone; three daughters, Cherie and the late Robert Fairchild of Malone, Penny Kakoolaki and husband, Bahman of Texas, Cathy and husband, Darrin Schrader of Malone. Donald was loved by grandchildren, Christopher Clark, Michael Amoonclark and wife Brady, Jon Mitchell and wife, Julie, James Mitchell, Tina Fairchild, Suzonne Kakoolaki, Moziar Kakoolaki, Carrie Slattery, Jordan Clark, Amanda Carter, and Travis Lashua. Great-grandchildren, Toni Clark, Forrest Clark, Grace, Alexander and Nora Amoonclark, Marina Kamora, Kyle Mitchell, Khloe Mitchell, Cali Ryerson, Irelyn Slattery, Isla Slattery, Darlene Martin, Katie Hence, and Gabriel Lashua. Don is survived by a brother, Richard Clark and his wife, Barbara of Tupper Lake, NY. He had many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was also predeceased by his parents, a brother, Vernon Sabin, a great-granddaughter, Zoey Elaine Slattery, and son-in-law, Robert Fairchild. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
