Our hearts are broken for the Hannan family. Nothing prepares you for the loss of your parent. Tommy was a giant among men! Take comfort knowing that our mom and dad, Paddy and Anne Milia, met him at the pearly gates with open arms and a cocktail in their hands. Warm regards to all - Sue and Jack Emptage, and Bill and Christine Milia

How deeply saddened I was when I noticed Tom's passing in the Journal. He can't be gone. Now he can see his old friend,George Looney and relive their Expo hot dog stand experiences.
Tom made the Bazaar Room workers at Expo have so much more fun, with his amusing remarks and his infectious smiles.
Surely he will be so missed. Fondly, Bonnie Pearson

Prayers of support for Kay and the family as you celebrate the life and impact of Tom. Our family knew about Mr Hannan through Kay as she taught for several years alongside my father at Hammond Central School. Tom modeled great qualities and practiced service above self. Blessings on the Hannan Family!

We send our sincerest condolences to the entire family. In the North Country, one would be hard-pressed not to have interactions with this wonderful family. My first bank account was at North Country Savings. Mrs. Hannan was my teacher. I worked with Deb, John takes care of me at the store, the list goes on, all tremendous folks, doing their jobs with care and concern. That stems from the firm foundation in this family. Hold tight to your memories, which will cheer you as you deal with this change. Remember that absent from the body means present with the Lord. That's a reason to celebrate!

To the entire Hannan family: my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Ogdensburg has lost another great icon whose contributions to the City and the surrounding communities will be sorely missed. Tom was the epitome of the "helping hand" to the community and to the patrons of the bank. He helped many young people get started in home ownership by being a creative financier, something that the "big banks" cannot fathom. May your happy memories with him sustain you in the sad times. Laugh about those good times as he would have wanted you to!

Ogdensburg lost a beautiful sole with the passing of Tom. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say to anyone he came in contact with. Our family will have you all in our hearts during this time.

It was with great saddness that I read of Tom’s passing. He was a great boss and person. I feel very fortunate to have been hired by him to begin my career at the North Country Savings Bank. Those days were truly the “good old days”,making many great memories. I learned a lot from him enabling me to be a better person for which I’m eternally great full. I hope your memories can bring you some comfort and peace at this most difficult time. To Tom’s family,I’m offering you my heartfelt condolences.

Condolences to the Hannan Family and all those who crossed this good man’s path. Opened my first bank account with him at SLCSB at the corner of State and Greene Streets when 12 years old after getting a paper route with about a three dollar deposit. To know him you were always greeted with that perpetual smile, if but for a quick greeting at a Seaway Festival parade or being served a hotdog/popcorn at an Expo or community event. Many memories, the most distinct for me was as a college student, when Scratchy and a contingent of his friends/priests/my Dad, would venture out from the ‘Burg for a football weekend. I would get to skip the dining hall due to an invite for a real meal, and marveled at the way Scratchy would take a few bites of his, smoke a cigarette and have cocktail, a few more bites, another cigarette and cocktail, and again. A hero then, and now in memory. Always a human of good cheer, but his sense of good will toward all who encountered him, as well as his progeny, will be his legacy.
