Obituary of Donal Garry Mitchell

Donal G. Mitchell age 81, of Malone, NY passed away December 23, 2021, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. A funeral service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home. Donal was born February 28, 1940, in Fort Covington, NY to the late Frederick A. Mitchell and Ida Evans Mitchell. He graduated from Salmon River High School in 1957. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1966. Once returning to Fort Covington, he was a carpenter until 1989, working for many different companies. In July of 2009, he married Donna Lamb at the Moose Lodge by Justice Cheryl Willbanks. He always enjoyed building and woodwork. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his sons, Donal Mitchell Jr. and Thomas Nelson Mitchell both of Malone, NY; his daughters, Katelynn Mitchell of Malone, NY, Sayriah LaRocque of Malone, NY, and Kaity Mitchell of Moria, NY, Amiee Mitchell of Malone, NY, Lilia Mitchell of Malone, NY, and Brandie Mitchell of Malone, NY; several grandchildren; a brother, Ian Mitchell of Fort Covington, NY; two sisters, Nelda Polansky of Guilderland, NY and Pat Walker of Sunset City, AZ; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard Lamb Jr. of North Lawrence, NY, James Lamb of Nactic, CT, Laura Tuttle of North Bangor, NY, and Sheila Lamb of Malone, NY; and many nieces nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Donna Lamb Mitchell; his parents Frederick A. and Ida Mitchell; a daughter, Lori Mitchell; and a brother-in-law, Paul Polansky.
