Obituary of Joanne Marie Teeple

Joanne Marie Hanchett Teeple age 89 died Sunday morning, October 31, 2021 at Elderwood of Uihlein in Lake Placid. Calling hours will be held Wednesday November 3, 2021 at Frary Funeral Home in Malone from 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. A graveside service will take place Thursday November 4, 2021 at Morningside Cemetery at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home in Malone. Born on June 21, 1932 in Sharon, Conn the daughter of Earl Daniel Hanchett and Florine Rosalie Franks. Joanne’s family had a long run with the New York State Troopers including her father, uncle, brother, and husband. She graduated in 1950 from Averell Park Central School and in 1952 from NYS University of Buffalo with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Joanne worked in South Colonie and Schoharie Central Schools system and the Dental offices of Dr. James Arthur DDS of Middleburg, NY and Dr. Douglas Henry of Schoharie, NY. On August 17, 1952 she married Fred H. Teeple Jr. at the Central Bridge United Methodist Church by Rev. Harry J. White. They lived in Malone for 49 years and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2002. She was a member of C.B.V.M. Church over 50 years. She was the Primary Department Sunday School Teacher and Past Matron Schoharie Valley State Chapter O.E.S. #450. Mrs. Teeple was active in Mohawk Pathways Girl Scouts Council as both adult and junior troop leader, Den Leader of Boy Scouts and Little League Boys Baseball coach. Fred and her were active with the Catholic Charities providing temporary foster care to the new born. She enjoyed swimming, hunting, fishing, crafts, knitting, sewing, and some golf and skiing. Joanne is survived by her sons, Donald Edward Teeple and David Alan Teeple, both retired U.S. Border Patrol Supervisors residing in Duane, NY with their respective wives, Laura and Carmella; a daughter and son in law, Kim Marie Ceravolo, a retired RN Sepsis Coordinator of Henry Ford Health System and her husband Rocco residing in Macomb, Michigan; a brother Daniel Hanchett; a sister, Mary Ellen Hanchett; nine grandchildren, Dean, Nicole, Camille, Paul, Christina, Joseph, Jonathan, Matthew, and Cara; twelve great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Fred H. Teeple Jr.; her parents, Earl and Florine Hanchett; and a sister, Susan Walden. Condolences can be made at fraryfuneralhome.com.
