Obituary of Carl F. Disotell

Carl F. Disotell, age 78, of Morley, NY, and formerly of Newton Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 9, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center after losing a courageous battle with kidney failure. There will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Carl is survived by his five children, Lea Matthie of South Colton, NY, Ellen Mandigo of Holland, VT, a son he was extremely proud of, Staff Sgt. Roger Disotell of Clarksville, TN, Cindy Vallieres and her husband, Alain, of Orleans, VT, and Amy Disotell of Morley, NY; two sisters, Johanne Mothersell of Philadelphia, NY and Dorothy Fox of Lowville, NY; a brother, Thomas Disotell of Castorland, NY; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by six brothers, Leonard A. Disotell, Sylvester J. Disotell, Robert A. Disotell, Roger Lee Disotell, Floyd J. Disotell, Sr. and Edward Disotell and two sisters, Dawn Marie Westover, and Mary Louise White. Carl was born on March 26, 1943, in Carthage, NY, the son of the late Abraham J. and Louise M. (Barrett) Disotell. He attended local schools in the area. Carl was employed by the Newtown Falls Paper Mill as a custodian for many years. Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, and helping others in the community. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to a wonderful man who became like a son to Carl, Dahchon Patterson, for his care, compassion, and loving heart.
