Obituary of Florence Marion Larock

Florence M. Duquette- LaRock (AKA Nena), age 70, of Malone, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Albany Medical Center. Per her wishes, no services will be held at this time. There will be a celebration of life at the American Legion in Malone on October 16, 2021 from 1:30PM to 5:00PM, if you would like to pay your respects. Florence was born on November 30, 1950 in Malone, NY to the late Albert R. Duquette, Sr. and Elsie Belanga- Duquette. She grew up on Webster Street- Road in Malone, in a family of six children. Even though Florence was taken from us, way too soon, she still found a way to enjoy the time she did have while she was here. Florence was a woman of many trades. Between helping many people run their businesses, she decided it was time to open her own. Formally known as “Flo’s Diner” in Chateaugay, NY. Even though she found peace spending time at home, she did get the opportunity to travel the states with her husband. Once Florence started getting grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she became a homebody; spending every chance she got with her family. Florence enjoyed holding all holidays and cookouts at her house because she loved to cook for everyone. She found most excitement in her gardens. Spending every chance she got making her backyard look like paradise. Sitting by the fire with a cold one, great company always had her smiling. Florence was such a beautiful soul that was so accepting of everyone. This is how she received the nickname “Nena”. Well Nena, you will be greatly missed by many but most importantly, by your family. Florence is survived by her husband Daniel L LaRock; her only child Robin L Mayville and her husband Adrian E. Mayville; her grandchildren Kayla (Andy) Patterson, Chelsey Marshall, Breanna Marshall, and Cole Mayville; her great-grandchildren Ashton Thomas, Reed Thomas, Elsie Patterson, Bennett Patterson, Drake Patterson, and soon to come Ezlyn Moore. Florence was predeceased by her father, Albert R. Duquette Sr., her mother, Elsie Belanga- Duquette, stepmother, Evelyn Duquette, three brothers; Albert R. Duquette, Jr., James J. Duquette, and Roy J. Duquette, and sister in law, Lorrie Duquette. Surviving siblings are Carol (Eric) Wood, Anna (Tom) Stafford, sister-in-law, Mary Duquette, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. “May you rest in peace Nena” Memorial contributions in Florence’s name may be made to Daniel LaRock, 512 River Road Malone, NY 12953.
