Obituary of Eugene L. LaFave

Eugene L. LaFave, age 81, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at his home under the loving care of Hospice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Eugene is survived by his companion, Barbara Davenport of Ogdensburg, NY; his dog, Joey; six children, Robin Horton and her husband, Kavin, of Hammond, NY, Wayne LaFave of Ogdensburg, NY, Jodi Cullen of Hornell, NY, Eugene LaFave of Ogdensburg, NY, Teasha Stiles and her husband, Michael, of Hornell, NY, and Bobbi Jo LaFave of Ogdensburg, NY; a brother, Roland L. LaFave and his wife, Sheran, of Ogdensburg, NY; 26 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his wife, Blanche LaFave; two sisters, Mary Jane, Phyllis Wilson, and Sylvia Tebo; and a brother, Edgar LaFave, at eight years old. Eugene was born on July 31, 1940, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of the late Eugene and Dorothy (Perkins) LaFave. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy. Eugene married Blanche E. Perry on April 4, 1959, at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A.D. Charbonneau officiating. She predeceased him on February 24, 2011. Mr. LaFave was employed at Standard Shade Roller and Newell Manufacturing. Eugene enjoyed camping at Eel Weir State Park, fishing on the Oswegatchie River, and spending time with his family.
