Obituary of Idakathryn Swank

Ida-Kathryn “Ida” Swank, age 69, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away unexpectedly Friday Morning, August 6, 2021, at Claxton – Hepburn Medical Center. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. She is survived by her husband, Roger Swank of Ogdensburg, NY; her five children, Danny L. Swank II and his wife, Amanda (Morey) Swank, of Colchester, VT, John C. Swank of Hermansville, MI, Michael A. Swank of Davenport, IA, Stephen M. (Swank) Willhite of Davenport, IA, Elizabeth (Swank) Rainwater and her husband, Jacob Rainwater, of Davis, IL; her grandchildren, Adam Michael Swank, Ashlynn Kelly-Marie Swank, Serenity Skye Swank, Bailey Rainwater, and Wyatt Rainwater; her father, Harry John Bell of, Ogdensburg, NY; her two brothers, Frank Bell and his wife, Sandra, of Illinois and John Bell and his wife, Debbie, of Utah. She was predeceased by her mother, Annette May Bell. Ida-Kathryn was born on February 13, 1952, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Harry John Bell and Annette May (Turner) Bell. She graduated from Belvidere Central. She married Roger Swank on June 15, 1976. She was a homemaker that enjoyed taking care of her home and family. Ida enjoyed cooking, crocheting, loved dogs and houseplants, especially African violets. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Ida volunteered as a baker for years at Debbie’s Bake Shop in Freeport, IL. She was also active in the church in the Relief Society, Primary, and the Nursery.
