Obituary of Floyd James Hogeboon

Floyd J. Hogeboon age 80 of Malone passed away Monday morning on August 2nd, 2021, surrounded by family. A graveside service will take place Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Floyd Hogeboon Jr officiating at Morningside Cemetery. A luncheon will be following the service at Gail Wemette at 454 Miller Road in Constable, NY. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Malone. Floyd was born April 13, 1941, to the late Leroy Hogeboom and Adella Posson in Carlisle, NY. On May 3, 1959, Floyd married Mary Marlow in Trout River, NY. He worked at William Mansion Nursing Home as a Physical Therapist Assistant. From there Floyd worked for Malone Central School as a bus driver. Floyd later worked as a sign language interpreter for BOCES at Salmon Central School. He also opened the Personal Touch Embroidering in 1997 in Malone, NY. He also operated two pet shops early in his career. Floyd was a hand radio operator and was a transporter for several Amish families and business men. He enjoyed all animals, helping people, especially the deaf. Mr. Hogeboon is survived by his wife Mary Hogeboon of Malone, NY; four sons, Floyd and his wife Eileen Hogeboon of Florida, Rodney Hogeboon of Tennessee, Brian and his wife Christie Hogeboon of North Carolina, and David and his wife Betty Hogeboon of West Monroe, NY; one daughter, Gail and her husband Brian Wemette of Malone; a son in law, Dale Patnode of Malone; a daughter in law, Brenda Hogeboon of Malone; two brothers, Richard Wayne and his wife Sheridan Hogeboom of South Carolina and Leroy and his wife Cindy Hogeboom of Florida; a brother in law, John and his wife Lori Marlow; and four sisters-in-law, Lynn Hogeboom, Nancy Hogeboom, Carol Marlow and Theresa Johnson; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren with two on the way; and fifty-four foster children. He was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Adella Hogeboom; three sons, Steven, Harold and Randy Hogeboon; a daughter, Carol Patnode; and three brothers, Kenneth, Charles, and Donald Hogeboom.
