Vicar Daughtry, age 80, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 202¬1. Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Frary Funeral Home. He is survived by his loving wife Betty “Liz”(Lauzon) Daughtry of Malone, NY, a sister; Sally Day, of North Carolina; a son, Vicar R. Daughtry Jr., of Virginia; two daughters; Tina Purcell of Virginia and Margie A. Ventre of Florida; as well as eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and one niece Carrie Day. He is predeceased by his mother Sarah Eugenia Reynolds Wehler and his father George W. Daughtry, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Marguerite S. Reynolds and Edward C. Reynolds; and his paternal grandparents, Carrie Perl Eley Daughtry and George W. Daughtry. Vicar was born in Norfolk, Virginia on September 2, 1940, the son of Sarah Eugenia Reynolds Wehler and George W. Daughtry, Jr. He grew up in Chesapeake Beach, Virginia until his early adulthood and eventually met the love of his life, Betty “Liz” (Lauzon) Daughtry, and enjoyed 33 years of marriage together. Vicar worked many years as a cross-country bus driver for Saddle River Tours in New Jersey and then later on was a Franklin County bus driver out of Malone, New York. Vicar loved cats and trains.
