Obituary of Elsie C. Oliver

On Sunday June 27, 2021, Elsie C. Oliver (Moore) passed away at the age of 95. She was born in Ellenburg Depot, NY on April 19, 1926 to Arthur and Ethel Blair Moore. She was the first of seven siblings and was predeceased by brothers Maurice, Hollis, William Joseph (Joe)and sister Dawne. Elsie is survived by her brother Richard Moore of Ellenburg Depot and sister Hazel Veivia of Schenectady. An original Rosie the Riveter, Elsie married Donald Cheeseman during WWll and moved to Buffalo to work in an airplane factory. Son Donald F. Cheeseman Jr, (Donnie) was born in Buffalo and daughter Cynthia (Cindy) was born after moving to Malone. Elsie worked in the Insurance business and later was a long-time employee at Key Bank retiring 1991. Elsie was very active and enjoyed golfing, bowling, knitting, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed adventures with her dear friend Eleanore McCabe, and was also involved with many church activities at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Malone where she was a member. And she always cherished spending time in Hawaii with Donnie. Elsie spent lots of time with her grandchildren, Cory (Soper) Jacobs (Binghamton) and Jeffery Soper in Malone, and Ian, Kai and Mia (Jimenez) Cheeseman in California, And more recently delighted in watching her great-grandchildren arrive, Alex and Calista Jacobs, Annalise and Charlotte Soper and Ira Jimenez, In addition to her parents and siblings mentioned above, Elsie was predeceased by husbands Donald Cheeseman and Robert Oliver, son Donnie and son-in-law Jack Soper. A funeral service will be held at Frary Funeral Home in Malone, NY on July 7, 2021 at 10:30AM. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM- 10:30AM at Frary Funeral Home, Malone. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Malone.
