Obituary of Jean L Yeddo

Jean Yeddo, age 95 of Malone, passed away in her sleep on Friday, June 11, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. A funeral service will take place at Frary Funeral Home in Malone on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11:00AM with her son Rev. Paul R. Rowley and Rev. Carl Chamberland officiating. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, June 16 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Frary Funeral Home. Jean was born on December 28, 1925, in Burke, NY to the late Merton and Florence Deuel. She graduated from Franklin Academy. She then graduated with her Bachelor's degree from Potsdam Normal School of Education and later received her master's from Potsdam State University. She married Earl J. Rowley Jr. on October 25, 1946, and he predeceased her on March 14, 1969. She later married Donald R. Yeddo on August 12, 1972. Jean worked for 32 years for the Malone Central School District before retiring in 1982. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She served as the president of the UMW and was chairman of several committees including, Northern New York and St. Lawrence Committee on Nominations. Jean enjoyed traveling after retirement with Donald, including places like Hawaii, Nova Scotia, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Korea, and two train rides through the American and Canadian Rockies. Mrs. Yeddo was always attending to her gardening. Jean was survived by her husband Donald Yeddo; her sons, Stephen (Mary) Rowley of Evans Mills, NY and Paul (Gloria) Rowley of Houghton, NY; her sisters, Norma Taylor of Rochester, NY, Beverly Collins; her brother and sisters in laws, June, Phyllis and Pat Yeddo of Malone, NY, Rose Brooks of Florida, Robert (Pamela) Yeddo of Liverpool, NY and Ross Belthazard; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Yeddo was predeceased by her first husband, Earl Rowley Jr.; her brother, Maurice (Evelyn) Deuel; her sisters, Gertrude (Kenneth) Stark, Dottie (Pat) Patzwald, Florence (Derryck) Ogden, Kathryn (Hadwin) Ellsworth; brother and sisters in law, Richard, Carol, Sandie Yeddo, Delores Belthazard, Glenn and Shirley Foster, Beatrice and Douglas Brooks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Centenary United Methodist Church, Hospice of the North Country, or North Country Animal Shelter. A reception will be held at the Malone Golf Course following the graveside service. A buffet will be provided. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Malone.
