Obituary of Jean Anne Bourbeau

A Funeral Mass for Jean A. Bourbeau, age 89, will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Alphonsus Holy Name Parish with Rev. Douglas Decker officiating. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Frary-Stuart Funeral Home. Mrs. Bourbeau passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family in Tupper Lake, NY. She is survived by her children, Thomas Bourbeau, of Tupper Lake, Michelle Stevens, of Altamont, four grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, Emilee, and Alexandra; her sister, Catherine (Cal) Fletcher; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Bourbeau; her parents; her siblings, Helen Brown, Phyllis Boushie, Theresa Brunette, Frank McCauley, and Estelle McMillen. Jean was born on July 31, 1931, in Tupper Lake, NY the daughter of the late Roderick and Anne Kavanagh McCauley. She graduated from Holy Ghost Academy and received her diploma as a registered nurse at Champlain Valley School of Nursing. Jean married Donald Bourbeau on September 13, 1954 at St. Alphonsus Church. Jean first went to work for the Veteran’s Administration Hospital as a registered nurse before working for Mercy Hospital, later finishing her career at Sunmount DDSO. She loved to knit, was an avid reader, and very active in the St. Alphonsus Church. She was passionate about her sweets, especially her maple walnut ice cream, Milky Ways, and Moscato. She had the biggest heart and was dedicated to helping out everyone else no matter the cost and was the ultimate caregiver.
