Obituary of Charles Truman Burnham Jr.

A Memorial Service for Charles T. “Chuck” Burnham Jr., age 60, of Tupper Lake, will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 6:00PM at Frary-Stuart Funeral Home with Deacon Gerald Savage officiating. Calling hours will be held on April 24, 2021 from 4:00PM up until the time of the service. Charles passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. Charles is survived by his loving wife Shelly; his mother, Leona Kavanagh; his children, Matthew Burnham (Morgan), Jennifer Burnham (Keith), Melinda Tyler, and Billie Jean Gadway; his grandchildren, Hunter, Lily, Ariana, Hailey, Wyatt, Toby, Abby, William and Gabriel; his siblings, Susan Torno (Sebold), Kim Burnham, Debbie Lizotte, Frank Burnham (Jamie), Amy Barton, Christopher Burnham, Anne Facteau (Eric), Vincent Kavanagh (Ellen), Mary Kay Amell (Roger), Phillip Kavanagh (Tina), Mike Kavanagh (Sue), Jackie McTernan, JP Kavanagh (Jeanie); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Charles was predeceased by his step-dad, Gerald Kavanagh; his sister, Audrey; his father, Charles T. Burnham; his grandparents, Tom and Helen Godin, Otis and Helen Burnham. Charles was born on November 10, 1960, in Tupper Lake, NY, the son of Leona Kavanagh and Charles T Burnham. He worked at the Oval Wood Dish right out of high school, until it closed in 2008. He then worked for Sunmount DDSO, starting in 2009 up until he retired due to illness. On October 14, 2017, Charles married the love of his life, Shelly Gough. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. We are thankful for all of the memories we shared. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at the Woodsman’s Tavern/Grand Union Hotel, 36 Depot St., Tupper Lake, NY 12986.
