Obituary of Robert J. Ross

Funeral Mass for Robert J. Ross, age 90, of Monroe Avenue, Ogdensburg, will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 10:00AM at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery following the service. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mr. Ross passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at his home. Robert is survived by two sons, Daniel Ross and his companion, Pam Love of Ogdensburg, NY and Robert Ross of Hampton, NH; six daughters, Sally Miller of Madrid, NY, Susan Owens and her husband, Alberto, of Seabrook, NH, Robin Smith and her husband, Michael, of Ogdensburg, NY, Lisa Bragg of Seabrook, NH, Lorrie Episale and her husband, Charles, of Binghamton, NY, and Karen Lipinsky and her husband, Michael, of Ogdensburg, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him dearly. Robert is predeceased by a brother, Howard Ross; a sister, Kathleen Douglas, and a son-in-law, Terry Bragg. Robert was born on April 27, 1930 in Red Mills, the son of the late Stanley J. and Alma (Dilcox) Ross. He attended local schools in the area. Robert married, the love of his life, Nancy E. (Brien) Ross on April 18, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Ogdensburg with Rev. Robert Sparling officiating. Robert and Nancy lived on a dairy farm in Red Mills and later moved to Ogdensburg where he retired from the Ogdensburg Water Department in 1987. She predeceased him on September 30, 2013. He was a devoted husband and father. He was always the happiest when surrounded by his family. He was a very kind and generous man who will be greatly missed by many.
