Stanley Holcomb

Obituary of Stanley Michael Holcomb

Stanley M. Holcomb, 73, of Malone, NY, passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2021. Born on May 23, 1947, in Sturgis, Michigan, he was the son of Noella Gaboriault and Richard Holcomb. Stanley has shared his life with his wife, the former Maureen (Soulier) Wood since 1997, and before that with Sandra Holcomb of Whitefield, NH, which ended in divorce. He was a jack of all trades from having had his own painting business in St. Johnsbury, Vermont in his earlier years to managing the Dufrane Building, shoe and slipper factory for Tru-Stitch/Wolverine from which he retired. Stan was an avid collector of coins, Nascar memorabilia and baseball cards, but his favorite past-times were spending time on the water fishing with his son and spending time with his family. He was an awesome husband, father, step-father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many and will be deeply and truly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen and the children that he was most proud of: his daughter Tracey French and her husband Tim of North Bangor, NY, his son Stacey Holcomb and his wife Tracy of Massena, NY, his three step-daughters: Leanne Wood and her partner Albert Senyah of Plattsburgh, NY, Megan Delia and her husband Michael of Groveland, FL and Courtney Wood and her fiance Richard Gallagher of Malone, NY. He was also PoppaStan to his 11 grandchildren, Shani, Courtney, Nina, Dylan, Kyleigh, Jordace, Lenayah, Roslyn, Miles, Aria and Averi. He is also survived by his siblings, Ronald LeBlanc and his wife Sharon of Derby, VT, Louise LeBlanc of Chantily, VA, Christine Jefferson of Salem, NH, Monique Peters of Leesport, PA, Vincent LeBlanc and his wife Ginger of Colorado Springs, CO, George LeBlanc and his wife Melanie of Fernandina Beach, FL, David LeBlanc and his wife Lynn of East Granby, CT and Andrew LeBlanc and his wife Jamila of El Paso, TX, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father and also his father-in-law, Dolphus Soulier. With heavy hearts, there will be no calling hours or funeral at the request of his family. There will be a Celebration of his Life planned to take place on his birthday, May 23, 2021 at his favorite place to be - on the river at his son Stacey's house located in Massena, NY.
