To family and loved ones, my condolences for your loss and my prayer you know Dave is in a better place. I first knew Dave as the quiet man who sat in the very back of our little church in Colton. As he began to have difficulty keeping up with his lawn maintenance, I volunteered to mow his lawn and followed that with raking the leaves on his property and pulling them back to the woods to be placed as directed by Dave. The first year, Dave helped me drag leaves but by the second, he was a coach, cheerleader, and supervisor. Dave taught me about blue birds and had me clean out nest boxes a few times while encouraging me to start my own nest boxes. Our friendship grew as he moved to Maplewood. The pictures below depict Dave enjoying the outdoors. We walked in parks, in town, and took drives around the countryside. No matter where we were, Dave could amazingly spot blue bird nest boxes. We set up nest boxes at Maplewood and last year attracted a pair of bluebirds.
I now have nest boxes on my front and back lawns and have attracted bluebirds each of the last two years. They will always bring Dave to mind. So many people to thank at Maplewood for all their kindness and compassionate care but would like to single out Tonya, Lori, and Dave of the staff and Kay B. who was a good, good friend. On to your new adventures Dave!

To the Heidenreich family,
It was sad to learn of Dave's passing. I worked with Dave as part of the Route 11 bluebird trail monitoring project in northern Franklin County. We became good friends while sharing conversations relating to bluebird biology and the natural environment. Please accept my offer of condolence. I hope that you'll find comfort in the company of family and friends at this time.
Respectfully,
Thomas Ventiquattro II
