Obituary
Obituary of Luke LaClair
Roger (Luke) LaClair, 86 of Tupper Lake peacefully passed away at Mercy Living Center on
November 11, 2020. Luke was born in Sutton Vermont on March 4, 1934 to Roy and Winona
(Niles) LaClair. After proudly serving in the US Marines from 1953-1956, he returned to
Tupper Lake and after a short time opened what was known as "Luke's Mobil Station". Aside
from spending time with his family, he loved his hunting weekends at Buck-A-Year Club, where
he was a member for years. In the summer months, he enjoyed playing in the Tuesday
NightMens League at the Tupper Lake Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Louella who he reacquainted with and married 53 years after their
prom date. He is also survived by his son Dean of Tupper Lake; his granddaughters, Rebecca
Murphy and Sarah Filion; his grandson, Maxwell; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Laila
Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his
brother Neil and sister Barbara (LaClair) Pickering.
For those who knew him, he will be remembered as an honest, hardworking gentleman. There
wasn't anything he couldn't fix, a person he wouldn't help, or an argument he would accept
losing.
Rest in Peace, Luke
