Obituary of Naomi Ruth Atkinson

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Naomi Atkinson, age 35, of Malone, New York, left this world, with her family by her side in Buffalo, New York, on Thursday October 15, 2020. She passed away due to complications from pneumonia. Naomi is survived by her parents, Bill and Ruth (Sierson) Atkinson of Malone; her brother William and his wife Mandy of Malone; four nieces, Eleanor, Adele, Madeline, and Marjorie of Malone; a nephew Noah of Malone; her grandparents, Gail and Jerry O’Conner of Chateaugay, NY, aunts and uncles, Carol Shova of Morrisonville, NY, Nettie Lawrence of Brushton, Penny and Dale Avery of Brushton, Vickie Wilcox of Brushton, Tina Hadley of Olcott, NY, David Sierson of Minoa, NY, Billy and Sharon Sierson of Early, TX, Chris and Teena Sierson of Malone, and Karen Drummond of Saint Regis Falls; numerous cousins. Naomi was predeceased by her grandparents Albert and Eleanor Sierson of Malone, Hector Atkinson of Malone, aunts Crystal Atkinson of Brainardsville, NY, Cindy Atkinson of Lockport, NY, and Dawn Titus of Brainardsville, NY with her companion Harold Giles surviving. Naomi was born on December 6, 1984 in Malone, NY. She graduated from Franklin Academy as well as the Heavy Equipment program, where she earned the Jeremy Preve award. Most recently, she was proud of earning her Associates Degree in Applied Science. She worked for many years in construction work, which she enjoyed. She also enjoyed hiking, was an animal lover, especially her special friend China among countless pets. She had a very special relationship with her brother William, they hiked together, especially fire towers. Naomi relished being an Aunt and loved writing, “love notes” and sending gifts to her nieces and nephew, and could never get enough pictures and phone calls. Naomi brought immeasurable joy to her parents and was always working hard and staying busy. She had a deep faith which she showcased with her brilliant smile, and her kind heart and soul. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Naomi’s services will be held at Frary- Spaulding Funeral Home in Malone, NY on Saturday, November 7th, at 2PM with Roger Preve officiating. Immediately following, a celebration of life at the American Legion in Chateaugay, NY will be held. She passed away due to complications from pneumonia. Donations may be made in her name to Precious Pups operated by Jim and Lisa Coryea, at 31 Wood Lane, Mountain View, NY 12969.
