Obituary of Dorothy Frances Seafuse

Dorothy Francis (LaFountain) Seafuse, passed away peacefully with her daughter, Kelie and son-in-law, Ray by her side on October 7, 2020. She was born to Ethel Clement and Francis LaFountain on April 30, 1941. Francis was killed in action during World War II. Ethel later married Joseph Lawrence and he raised Dorothy as his own. A graveside service will be held at Saint Alphonsus Cemetery on Saturday, October 24 at 11 AM. Services are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake. She is survived by her son, Lawrence Rolley, his wife, Juliette and their sons, Joseph and Eddie and also her daughter, Kelie (Seafuse) Rust, her husband, Ray and their children Emily, Bradley, Cecilee. She also has two great grandchildren, Landon and Ray. She is also survived by her sisters, Lynn (Lawrence) Bly and Deborah Lawrence and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her granddaughter, Tessa Rae Rust, and her parents. Dorothy attended Holy Ghost Academy and graduated in 1959. She then went on to the Utica School of Commerce. She worked at the dress factory in Tupper Lake then at Sunmount DDSO as a Developmental Aid and in her later years she was a caregiver for the elderly. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and bake sweet treats for her family. Her Christmas breakfast was fantastic!! She also enjoyed a great cup of coffee with her closest friend, Connie Pickering. In the words of her son, Larry, “There are many things I wanted to say but the one thing that keeps coming back to me is that Mom was always there. Always. It didn’t matter if she was busy, tired or not feeling well. Nothing we said went unheard or forgotten. You could be in a store with her in June and say you like something and that something you’d forgotten about would be under the tree at Christmas. The love she had for her family and close friends was the driving force of her life, and anything she could do for us was her greatest pleasure. She was the most giving, caring person I know. Mom was always there, and now she isn’t. We can rejoice that she is at peace with our Lord, and that the void left by her passing is filled by a piece of her in the hearts of those that knew and loved her.” Friends and family wishing to make donations in Dorothy ‘s memory can be made to Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
