Obituary of Carl John Reynolds

Carlton John Reynolds, 90, of Westville entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2020. Born in Constable, NY on February 25, 1930, he was the son of John E. and Emiline Lamica Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was educated in local school and entered the Army serving in the 1st Armor Division at Ft. Hood, Texas. He was honorably discharged. He worked as a machinist for 35 years, 4 years with ALCOA and 31 years with Reynolds Metals, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and was in charge of the Coal Hill Cemetery for over 40 years. He was also an active member of the Westville Fire Department for over 50 years. His dedication never wavered from serving as President, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Chief, Fire Police and he was also named as an honorary member. During the years serving the fire department, he was also awarded the honor of Fireman of the Year for in 1999 and for Franklin County in 2000. He was the last surviving charter member of the Westville Fire Department. On June 12, 1951 he married the love of his life, the former Elsa Avery at the Centenary United Methodist Church. She survives, as well as a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Kris Reynolds, a daughter Vicky Reynold, all of Westville, seven grandchildren and ten great=grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by three daughters, Sharon Perrin in 2014, Brenda Lee, and Darlene Marie at birth. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Leland, John Reynolds, and a sister, Geri Stinson. He enjoyed gardening and was a jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn't do. He and his wife could be sen enjoying their daily lunches at the Sunrise Cafe in North Bangor. They Reynolds family would like to thank Dr. Bhagat and her staff for the many years of excellent care that he received. Graveside services will be held on August 8, 2020 at 1:00PM at the Coal Hill Cemetery, Coal Hill Rd., Westville. Due to COVID-19 pandemic social distancing is required. There will be no gathering after the services after the services at this time. A celebration of Carl's life will will be held sometime in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Westville Fire Department in Carl's memory. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Frary-Spaulding Funeral Home of Malone.
