Mr Hollemback was my high school counselor and saved me my senior year! I was taking the nursing program through BOCES and a lot of times thought it was more fun to sit in the library park instead of going to my 12 grade English class. Mrs. Smith wanted to reward me by not allowing me to graduate. Bob stepped in brought the principal, showed my SATs and the fact that I was getting into last year at The Psych Center School of Nursing. He’s the only reason I got to walk with all of my classmates my senior year. I will always remember him fondly. To my dear friend Beth, Mary, Bob and Brett, my deepest sympathies! He touched so many lives ❤️

I was one of the student-athletes who transferred over to OFA when St. Mary’s closed in 1969. I was saddened by this news and will always remember my one-year of playing for Coach. My prayers go out to his family and wish them strength during these difficult days. It must be of great consolation to know he touched so many young students in such a positive manner. Thanks for sharing him with us!

Dear Isabelle and family : Joanie and i were saddened to learn of Bob' s passing . Such a good guy .
We have fond memories of our early days in Ogdensburg when several " young couples" all of whom were in the throes of developing careers , raising kids , buying homes , chasing after pets, and occasionally gathering as a large group to have a party to let our hair down,
Yep "Holly " was always in the thick of it , as the life the party , often asking " Are ya having fun Izzy " as a loving gesture toward the love of his life .
We all grew up together and Bob went on to distinguish himself not only as an athlete and coach , but as a fine educator and later a public servant alongside some equally " good guys" who were his running mates ,
So this fine man culminated a life well lived and has now gone home to be with his Head Coach and Lord .
RIP Holly , you were the best !

I was tremendously sad to learn of Mr. Hollembaek's passing, and my thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Hollembaek, Beth, Mary, Bob, and Brett.
I cannot even estimate how many hours I spent at his home growing up in Ogdensburg - outside of my own house, it was most likely where you could find me. He always welcomed me with that booming voice of his, and Mrs. Hollembaek and the entire family accepted me as if I was one of their own.
Please know that over the many years and many miles, I have never forgotten the kindness that was shown to me, and no amount of time and distance can diminish those memories. You will all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
