Obituary of James H McCarthy

Funeral services for James H. McCarthy, age 68, will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Foxwood Memorial Park with Robert Schirmer officiating.  There are no public calling hours.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.  Mr. McCarthy passed away October 11, 2019 at United Helpers Nursing Home.

Mr. McCarthy is survived by his sister, Alice Hunter and her husband, Thomas; his brother, David McCarthy and his wife, Sandra, both of Ogdensburg; and nieces and nephews. 

James was born on August 21, 1951 in Ogdensburg, the son of Keith and Louise Carpenter McCarthy.  He graduated from OFA in 1969 and later attended SUNY Canton.  He first worked for Diamond National and later was employed by St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a Therapy Aide, retiring in 2011. 

His enjoyment was going to the casino and bowling.  He was enjoyed traveling and reading and spending time with his family.  Donations may be made in James memory to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
