Obituary of Emmett John Ernenwein
On Friday, October 4, 2019, Emmett Ernenwein passed away at age 42. Emmett was born on November 30, 1976 in New Hartford, NY to Gerald and Margaret (Tobin) Ernenwein. He graduated from Town of Webb High School in 1996 and worked as an auto mechanic for most of his life.
Emmett was known for his ability to fix anything, and for energetically doing so for anyone who asked. He could even diagnose car trouble over the phone. He was also fearless; as a teenager he took on Lake Placid’s Olympic jumps with no training and succeeded in getting the best jump of the day. In recent years he satisfied his craving for danger with explosive target shooting. He had a soft spot for dogs and was known for his kindness and humor.
Emmett is survived by his parents, Gerald and Margaret Ernenwein, of Tupper Lake; his wife, Faith Ernenwein, of Holly Springs, NC; his siblings, Virginia Gordon and her husband, Robert, of Wesley Chapel, FL, Kathleen Hewey and her husband, DJ, of Hiram, ME, Luke Ernenwein and his wife, Jennifer, of York, ME, Eileen Ernenwein of Johnson City, TN, and David Ernenwein of Saranac Lake, NY; two stepchildren, Christian and Buddy Burgess, both of Holly Springs, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
