I was sorry to hear of your loss. Enzo was my mentor. I learned so very much from him! He was tough and demanding and he brought out the absolute best in those around him. He had a kind, wonderful heart!! My condolences and prayers.

Sadly, just learned that Enzo left this world back in January. He was a faculty member, research scientist, and friend for many years. His quick wit and casual style belied the detail-oriented investigator whose scientific accomplishments contributed greatly to the understanding of vaccines. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. Our condolences to his family members.

To all the Paolettis, Enzo was the toughest, most demanding boss I ever had. Nothing was ever good enough for him until it was perfect. Because of Enzo, I learned precise scientific writing and high professional standards, and because of that, I make a good living doing what I love. I could not do what I do were it not for Enzo’s relentlessness. When my brother died, my toughass boss was the kindest human being I have ever known. Of all the people that had something to say to try to help me, only Enzo made a difference. In every way possible, and in every sense of the word, Enzo Paoletti was/is utterly unforgettable. My father died almost 8 years ago. I can tell you that it will never stop hurting, but it will become a dull ache instead of a knife in your gut. I hope what I am writing here does for you even a little of what he did for me. God bless you all.

He lived life the way it was meant to be lived - La vita viva all'il pic piano. We were blessed to have known him and even more blessed to know his family and on top of it all, he was always punny.

Enzo was an inspiration not only for the advancement of biomedical science, but also for its sociological impacts. He will be dearly missed on both fronts ...
