Obituary of Lorena Jay

Lorena H. Jay, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born March 30, 1930 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Sandford and Florence (Kingsley) Dunham. Lorena graduated from Tupper High School class of 1947. She went on to attend the University of Colorado where she received her accounting degree. In November of 1950 she married Norman Hutcelsieder and was the book keeper for his construction company as well as other local small businesses. Together they had two daughters; Susan and Carol. Carol Jean passed away in 1971. Norman passed away in April 1979. Susan and her husband Dennis reside in Connecticut. Lorena was the proud grandmother to their 2 grandsons Dennis and Gallagher. Lorena worked in the accounting dept for Drapers Corp and later Landvest retiring in 1983. In May 1981 she married Albin Watras and together shared 25 years enjoying fishing in the beautiful Adirondacks and spending time with his children; John and wife Nancy, Stanley and wife Cathy and Mary Bien and her husband Thomas. In her golden years she was blessed with love again and married Vincent Jay. They enjoyed their time together on Lake Simon with his family; twins Marty and Vin Jr., and John and his wife Te. Lorena loved life and family, always cooking and taking care of friends and family. She enjoyed playing a mean game of shuffleboard at the VFW and earned her share of trophies. Lorena was blessed abundantly in life with children, grandchildren and love. Services were held on Friday, February 19th at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Name cemetery in May.
