Obituary of Nicholas Cole

Nicholas Cole, age 55, of 692 New York State Route 3, Saranac Lake, NY died Saturday, June 06, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, VT. Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 07, 1953, he was the son of Thomas and Edith (Kostyk) Cole. He married Karen Rombough on July 3, 1982 in Saranac Lake, NY. Nick was a life long resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed at various area businesses including, North Country Community College, Tops, Price Chopper, and had worked as a painter with his brother Richard. Nick was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife Karen; one daughter Erin and her fiancé Jeremy Perry; one granddaughter Ali Perry; three brothers George "Sid" Cole and his wife Sandra of Saranac Lake, NY; Dennis Cole and his wife Sue of Baltic, CT, and Robert "Wally" Cole of Saranac Lake, NY, two sisters Gail Strickland and her husband Eric of Daytona Beach, FL; and Mary Durett and her husband Pat of Franklin, CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers Richard and Martin Cole Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 2PM - 4PM. A funeral service will immediately follow calling hours on Thursday at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Following cremation interment will take place in North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid, NY.
