Obituary of Mildred E. Jessie

Mildred E. Jessie, age 95, formerly of Saranac Lake, NY died Friday, March 13, 2009 at AMC-Mercy Health Care Center in Tupper Lake leaving her family with many wonderful memories and much laughter. She was born in Malone, New York on July 25, 1913, the daughter of William and Della (Lester) Austin. She married Charles W. Jessie, Sr. on May 28th, 1934. Together they had five children. Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband Charles, her son Donald and also her mother and father and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons Charles and his wife Sue of Saranac Lake, NY, Frank and his wife Hannah of Toronto, CA, and two daughter's Nancy Higgins of Burlington, NJ, and Linda Manchester and her husband Andrew of Paul Smiths, NY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mildred had an interesting and educational life being able to do almost anything she put her mind to. She loved to travel by train, air and car to far away places such as Australia, England and many places in the Unites States usually to visit with family and friends who she loved dearly. Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday, March 16, 2009 from 1PM - 3PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Weather permitting; burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Friends wishing to remember Mildred E.
