Obituary of Jean Gilbert Wilson

Jean Gilbert Wilson died 28 October 2008 at the Will Rogers retirement home in Saranac Lake, NY. Her son Charles Wilson lives nearby in Lake Placid. She was born 5 Dec 1914 in rural Armstrong IL, daughter of Charles Henry and Audrey May (Howard) Gilbert. She attended Armstrong and Penfield schools and the University of Illinois, graduating with a degree in Bacteriology and went to work at Lake View Hospital Laboratory, Danville II during WWII. She married George Miller Wilson on 16 Feb 1940. They had two sons, Charles and Arnold Wilson in Urbana IL where George worked as a Geologist in the Illinois State Geological Survey until his death in 1985. Son Arnold also died in 1985. Jean worked in the Entomology Section of the Illinois Natural History Survey until retirement in 1979. She belonged to five Dependent Masonic Bodies, the DAR and DAC and other historical and Genealogical societies, and enjoyed pursuing family genealogy. At her request there will be no formal memorial services. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake, NY.
