Obituary of Terri Jo Holliday

Terri Jo Holliday (Welch), age 48, of 9 Prescott Place Apartment #1, Saranac Lake, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born in Brunswick, Maine on February 25, 1960, she was the daughter of Leonard and Betty Welch. She married David J. Holliday on September 2, 1993 in Saranac Lake, New York. Terri Jo graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1978. She later attended and graduated from North Country Community College in 1996 with an Associates Degree in Recreational Management and again in 2004 with an Associates Degree in Business Management. Terri Jo had been employed at the Adirondack Medical Center Environmental Services Department until she had to leave for health reason. Prior to that she had worked as the Bookstore manager for North Country Community College for several years and had also worked for Mountain Lake Academy in Lake Placid as a Counselor. Terri Jo was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 447 in Saranac Lake where she was currently serving as 2nd Vice President. She is survived by her husband David Holliday of Saranac Lake, NY, one son Michael Ferguson and his wife Amanda of Vermontville, NY, one daughter Heather Savage and her husband Edward of Chazy, NY, one brother Don Welch and his fiancée Julie Armstrong of Hudson Falls, NY, and one grandson Connor Niederbuhl of Chazy, NY, and another grandson due to be born in Feb. of 2009. She is also survived by two step-daughters Kari Hoffman and her husband Taylor of Ray Brook, NY, and Ashley Holliday of Lake Placid, NY, life long special friends Dorice Nelson Damsky and Sheldon Damsky of Cambridge, NY, and her step-brother Richard Blockston of Danamora, NY. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, her step-mother Barbara Welch, and all her Grandparents. Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. An American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Service will take place at 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the Fortune - Keough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow, with Brother William Debono officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday October 4, 2008 at the Schroon Lake Community Cemetery in Schroon Lake, New York. Friends wishing to remember Terri Jo Holliday may make memorial contributions to High Peaks Hospice, American Legion Post 447, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary 447 or the Susan Coleman Fund for Breast Cancer in care of the funeral home.
