Obituary of Ethel Ruth Flynn

Funeral services for Ethel Ruth Flynn, age 82, of Ogdensburg, NY, will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg, NY at 9:30 AM with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Mrs. Flynn passed away Wednesday morning, September 11, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Home, Ogdensburg. A reception will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Ogdensburg following the funeral.

Ethel is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gerald, of Ogdensburg, NY; her children, Daniel Gerald Flynn and his wife, Becky, Wyatt Charles Flynn and his fiancé, Tammy White, Louise Sarah Perkins, daughter-in-law, Kelly Flynn, Bill Patrick Flynn and his wife, Renee, and Matthew James Flynn and his wife, Aimee. Grandchildren; Sandy Hodskins and her husband George, Lynn Harrington, Theresa Cable Darling, Jushwua Gerald Flynn, Michael Lemont Perkins and his wife, Amy, John Thomas Perkins, Brian Lecours, Andrea Lecours, Michael Sharpe, Victoria Christian, Matthew J. Flynn II and Samantha R. Flynn. Great grandchildren; Jack Hodskins, Chloe Alannah Perkins, Quinn Lecours and William Christian, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ethel is predeceased by her son, Henry Clifford Flynn; her grandson, Tyler Henry Flynn; a sister, Irene Judson; seven brothers, Arthur Lee Judson, Wesley Judson, Harry Judson, Chester Judson, Ernest Judson, Ralph Judson and Harold Judson.

Ethel was born on May 20, 1937, in New Milford, CT, the daughter of Clifford H. and Sarah Ruth (Elwood) Judson. She attended local schools. Ethel married Gerald Patrick Flynn on August 14, 1954 in New Milford, CT. She and her husband, Jerry, owned and operated a family farm for many years.  Ethel Flynn devoted her life to taking care of her husband and their 6 children. She also enjoyed stamp collecting, crocheting, cooking, reading and attending daily mass.
